NDWBA Pennant Season 2022-23
The Newcastle District Pennant season has ended for another year and spectators were treated to some exceptional games in the post-sectional play-offs Monday 26th & Tuesday 27th September at Raymond Terrace.
Division 1 was a combined competition with Region 5 this year, having sides entered from Raymond Terrace, Kurri Kurri, Stockton, and Soldiers Point. Newcastle District presented its Division 1 Flag to Soldiers Point, with Stockton being runners-up.

Division 2 was also won by Soldiers Point with Kotara being runners-up
At the post-sectional finals, Lambton Park claimed the Division 3 victory over Tea Gardens, breaking their ‘winners drought’ which had plagued the Club since 2009.
In Division 4 there were three section finalists. Section 2 winners Stockton Red went down to the wire to claim the winners’ sash over Section 3 the new member club to NDWBA, Hamilton North. Soldiers Point Section 1 winners may have been unlucky not to return home with a flag or runners-up badges this year but have resolved to be back bigger and better next pennant season.
Undoubtedly one of the best, two-day post-sectional play-offs in recent years. Many spectators and supporters surrounded the greens, with their exuberant cheers making for an electric atmosphere. A huge congratulations to all Clubs for being so well represented and to all players for providing great games to watch.
Following the Flags & badges presentation, light refreshments were enjoyed before finalists made their way back to their home clubs to celebrate well into the evening.
